4 More

Four new packages of Carniolans from Shannon in Monroe. She's a super enthusiastic beekeeper who drives way south past everyone else to get these bees- and she also gave me a Russian queen, as she ran out of Carniolans, which I look forward to setting up with a split.

I've been working all weekend to put together enough equipment, as my order from Mann Lake was backordered- not too impressive on their part (to not let me know they did not have what I need in stock), but their prices are good, and I receive items within a few days. So I built 8 tops and 10 supers from scratch- plus 100 frames and new foundation- plus painting everything- its been a long weekend.

Below are the 4 hives in place. I have another super to add to each- but have not finished yet. Shannon gave me pollen patties as well to add, which I have not tried before.


From yesterday's swarm, bees linking up like those red plastic monkeys that link up. I think they do this when the are in wax production mode- though I don't know if that is what they are doing here.
